Friendology

At Menzies Creek Primary School, we are proud to implement the Friendology program as part of our whole-school approach to student wellbeing.

Friendology, developed by URSTRONG, is an evidence-based social and emotional learning program that supports students to build and maintain healthy friendships. It provides students, staff and families with a shared language to navigate friendships, manage conflict and develop confidence in their social interactions.

Through Friendology, students learn that friendships are an important part of school life and that challenges within friendships are a normal opportunity for growth. The program supports students to understand their feelings, communicate effectively and build respectful, positive relationships.

Key concepts of the program include:

  • The 4 Friendship Facts – helping students understand that friendships are unique, require trust and respect, and can change over time.

  • The Friend-O-Meter – a simple tool that supports students to recognise whether a friendship feels safe, respectful and positive.

  • The Friend-O-Cycle – a structured approach that teaches students how to manage conflict, repair friendships and move forward in a positive way.

At Menzies Creek Primary School, Friendology is embedded across classrooms and wellbeing practices, supporting students to develop the social skills, resilience and confidence needed to build strong, healthy relationships.
