The art room at MCPS is the perfect place for children’s artistic expression to develop. Our students are involved in a variety of art experiences that involve drawing, painting, construction, modelling, threads and textiles. All students talk about art using arts language and  are making critiques about their own and other artworks.

 

We focus on developing skills of line, shape, colour, pattern, texture and composition. Students also investigate other artists, artistic periods, styles of art and cultural art.  Students are encouraged to express themselves creatively in a calm and supportive environment.
