Menzies Creek Primary School has a extensive physical education and sporting program for years Prep - 6. The school has excellent sporting facilities, including a large sized multi purpose room, basketball court and football oval as well as a terrific supply of sporting equipment.

All students participate in 60 minutes of actual Physical Education time per week. This involves learning general motor skills in a wide range of sports. As part of the PE program Prep-2 students also participate in the Perceptual Motor Program (PMP) with their class teachers and parent helpers.

All students participate in a number of sporting highlights throughout the year.

Intra-school House Athletics carnival

The athletics carnival is a big highlight for students from Grade 3 - 6 and their parents. Grades Prep - 2 compete in a modified athletic program. Success at this event provides an opportunity to compete at interschool athletics carnivals.

In 2009 students will participate in a twilight sports event.

Lightning Premiership

This event is a competition for grades 3-6. Students compete in a round-robin competition against 5 other EDEC schools. Sports available for this day are football, netball and volleyball.

Grade 6 Basketball Day

A round-robin competition against EDEC schools held at Knox Basketball stadium for boys and girls in grade 6.

Grade 5 Soccer Day

Similar to the basketball day, this is a round-robin competition held at Bayswater Indoor Soccer centre for students in Grade 5.

X-Country

All students in grade 3-6 compete in a X-Country Fun run held at Cardinia Reservoir against EDEC schools. Students successful at this event have the opportunity to compete at the Zone Finals.

As part of Physical Education at Menzies Creek students are encourages to always do their best and to practice good sporting conduct both in P.E lessons and in Interschool Sport Competitions. Parents are always welcome to support and encourage their child on sporting days.
